Our Story

LaRona Means was hired to work at George's Bootery in September 1986 at Westgate Mall. George, the store owner at the time, first hired LaRona Means' brother, who eventually was leaving for college. George then enquired as to whether the brother had a sibling with the same work ethics as him. LaRona Means, also known as Roni, was then introduced to and hired by George, when she was 22 years old. Even though LaRona only intended to stay a couple of years, she turned this business into her passion. She developed a profound interest in the creativity that fashion entails after falling in love with it. She began pairing the shoes with clothes, and the rest is history. George eventually made LaRona the Store Buyer at one of his ten stores. Given that LaRona's mother is a retired tailoress, she was destined to be in this industry. Her work ethic, passion, and love for fashion almost 34 years later made her into the fashion icon she is today. Not only is LaRona Means a fashion icon, but she also graduated from USC-Upstate in 1995.
